Comprising six tracks, Finding Place weaves together a wide range of influences that MIMRA has explored throughout her musical career. Never one to neatly settle within one genre, the release is yet another example of her vast musical abilities, skillfully combining art pop, electronic music, jazz and folk.

Finding Place is the result of countless hours spent piecing together threads of ideas, which MIMRA eventually knits together to form a unique tapestry with her collaborators: producer Stefán Örn Gunnlaugsson (Ikorni), drummer Magnús Tryggvason Elíassen, horn player and composer Sylvía Hlynsdóttir, trombonist Sigrún Kristbjörg Jónsdóttir and mastering engineer Sigurdór Guðmundsson.

MIMRA received funding from a number of Icelandic artistic organizations to create “Finding Place,” including Menningarsjóður FÍH, Tónskáldasjóður Bylgjunnar og Stöðvar 2, Hljóðritasjóður Rannís and Upptökusjóður STEF.
